I started my medical career as an intensive care nurse at the University of Virginia and quickly realized I wanted to help prevent these serious conditions that frequently ended lives prematurely. I completed medical school at the University of Virginia and found my nursing skills invaluable in my training as a doctor. My residency at the University of Missouri was community-based and reinforced my desire to focus on outpatient preventative medicine. I started private practice with my father in Florida in 1988 and moved to Colorado Springs in 1996. At Mountain View Medical Group, I continue to work with families in acute and preventive care. I enjoy leisure time with my husband and 12-year-old son, and stay active in a local Christian medical mission, and dog rescue group.
