Lor-Anne Gibans, MD

Lor-Anne GibansI always knew I wanted to be a doctor because I love helping people. I’ve been on the other side and been a patient myself and I know how important it is to have a doctor who really listens and who really cares.

I started helping people at a young age by volunteering with local charities. When I got older I went to Amherst College and studied Biology. At college, I worked hard in the classroom and also out of the classroom. I spent many hours working with a Cambodian family to help them in every way including making sure they had good healthcare. After college, I went to graduate school at Boston University and studied psychology and healthcare ethics. At the same time, I worked at Harvard Medical School, doing breast cancer research. I will never forget the women I helped during the time I spent at Harvard Medical School. That experience made it clear to me that I wanted to be a doctor.

My family had moved to Colorado while I was in college. I was fortunate enough to be accepted to medical school at the University of Colorado. I loved Colorado from the very first moment I arrived. After medical school, I did my internship and residency at Exempla Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. I married my husband who is a Colorado native. We both feel so fortunate to be living in this beautiful state.

I am thrilled to be part of Mountain View Medical Group where I can continue to work to make sure people have a doctor who listens and cares.
